written by MyTime TV Canada February 12, 2019

Tate was born in Ontario Canada on April 13th 2007.  He is currently in grade 6. He has always had interest in Arts since he was a toddler. He would draw and cut the drawings out of the paper making them look like cartoons. Tate’s interest for writing started developing at the age of 6.  When he turned 7 years old, he expressed his to write a comic box children could relate to reading, He has a box full of different characters and stories he wrote since he was 7 years old.

As an 11 years old boy who had the vision of writing his own book, Tate recognized that there was a gap in Canadian literature and decided to make a difference by creating a book that represented ‘diversity’.  He then went on and created a ‘superhero comic’ book that would change the cultural dynamics in Canadian kids literature.

Tate’s urge for change birthed ‘Cheetah boy’, a book that represents children of color. He continues to look for innovative ways to inspire and represent youths from diverse groups. Due to the enormous support he is getting from the community,  Tate decided to launch his book on 23rd February 2019, at Chris Gibson Recreation Centre, 125 McLaughlin Road North, Brampton Ontario L6X 1Y7, Canada

The Mayor of brampton, and MP representatives have all confirmed their attendance to celebrate black history month with the current youngest black Canadian author.

Aside from writing, Tate’s interest and hobbies include soccer of which he was in a league for a while. He took a break from soccer last summer to attend  a full summer camp course on business and entrepreneurship, He sold candies at the camp and made a very good profit  which he saved till date in his piggy bank. Late last year, he developed a new interest in playing chess and he’s always looking for new ways to challenge himself.

What makes Tate even more unique aside from being a young boy, is his strong aspiration to succeed at this age. He cares about sick kids and is working on a new project to contribute towards this cause.

As an aspiring young entrepreneur, Tate constantly pitches his amazing business ideas to his parents, who in turn have provided every possible encouragement and support. He has another business idea he is currently working on, and hopes to share it soon.
