The House of Reps lawmaker representing Lagelu Akinyele Federal constituency of Oyo state, Temitope Olatoye Sugar was shot dead. Temitope Olatoye better known as “Sugar” in the political circle was shot by a suspected resident of Elesu village, Lalupon Lagelu area of the state.
Gathered by our correspondent Miphel Peters from reliable source this afternoon that Sugar was on his way returning from the state capital, Oyo state when he was stopped by some suspected gunmen and immediately was shot in the eye and they fled away. Sugar was immediately rushed to the University College Hospital, Ibadan where he underwent operation. Spokes from the hospital Toye Akinrola Confirmed that Olatoye did not survive the operation.
Olaoye’s political career started when he was appointed as Supervisory Counselor in Ojeda LGA in Ogun state. He was elected into the Oyo state House or assembly in 2011 under the Accord Party. His victory resulted to a serious riots and bloodshed by the rival party PDP targeted the Candidate and whole members of Accord Party and which has put most active members of the party on the run for their lives till date. Gathered from anonymous source, the attack and murder of Temitope Olatoye was suspected to the enemity that spranged up and ever since he was declared winner of the 2011 Oyo state House of Assembly election over the PDP candidate. Ever since, there has been a widespread news of how various members of the Accord party involved in the whole party campaign and election drills has been attacked and some fled out of the country fro their dear lives. During the whole saga, it was recorded of six(6) among their members killed and 2 hospitalized then confirmed dead after three days.
Some of the active members, the likes of Abubakar Oyesiji Ally and his friend Zakar Lawal whom were appointed by Zakar Lawal’s uncle to take major role in making sure Sugar become victorious in his polical pursuit. Zakar Lawal been the youth leader at the time gave his all to ensuring the success.
Currently all the members are on the run for their lives such that nobody knows of their where about presently. Weeks before Sugar was shot dead, one of his active supporters and one of those who worked for Sugar Shina Ajimobi was murdered by the suspected perpetrators who killed Sugar in cold blood. He concluded by adding that police and some other lawmakers are already investigating on the situation currently.
